Welcoming Ramadan

By Farooq Khan
“Be kind to orphans so that when your children become orphans they also may be treated with kindness. Do invoke that Allah may forgive your sins. Do raise your hands at the time of Salat (Prayers), as it is the best time for asking Allah’s mercy. When we invoke at such times, we are answered by Allah, when we call Him, He responds, and when we ask for anything, it is accepted by Him…”

Worried? Afraid? Call on Allah!

By Arshad Gamiet
“Too often  we try to deal with life’s problems on our own, without seeking Allah’s help. These problems pile up until they become unbearable. Yet all it takes is for us to call on Allah for help, and to answer Allah’s call. Our faith and trust in Allah must awaken a desire to please Allah at all times…”

Show mercy to enjoy mercy

By Arshad Gamiet
“Events in Afghanistan are unfolding rapidly. The whole world is waiting to see what happens next. Will there be more bloodshed, revenge, and waves of refugees fleeing for safety? Or will there be a different outcome, one that stops the violence and brings a new era of peace and reconciliation in that troubled land?

Never belittle the smallest good deed…

By Arshad Gamiet
“Sadly, these blessed days of Muharram have also been so traumatic for our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. Who can ever forget those desperate scenes at Kabul airport? Wisdom is a gift of Allah’s love

By Arshad Gamiet
“Clearly, Allah’s wisdom will only be conferred on those of us who use their intellect, those who ponder, who contemplate on Allah’s abundant signs in the world around us and the world within us. This regular exercise of deep contemplation must inevitably lead us to appreciate how much Allah loves us, how much Allah loves His entire creation.. If we reciprocate this Divine Love, we may indeed earn Allah’s gift of wisdom.”

Fake news and truth seekers

By Arshad Gamiet
“The battle between truth and falsehood, between good and evil is as old as humanity itself. This battle will continue until the end of time. We are caught up in the middle of the storm. We have to navigate our way to safety, and we have to teach our children and grandchildren how to do likewise….”

Khutbah for Eidul Fitr 2021

By Arshad Gamiet
“Even as we enjoy our Eid today, our hearts and our minds must also be with those who suffer all manner of hardship around the world. Much of this suffering is man-made, not natural. In the midst of our Eid celebrations, let us also not forget how differently Eid is being celebrated right now in Gaza, in Iraq, in Syria, Yemen, among the Rohinya Muslims in Myanmar (Burma), the Uighurs in China and other places of conflict around the world..”

Lailatul Qadr: The Night of Power

By Arshad Gamiet
“Let us spend our Night of Power, in Dhikrullah, remembering Alláh, swt, and offering thanks to Him, for his countless blessings that we enjoy each moment of our lives. Let us passionately seek Alláh’s help, Glorified and Exalted is He, to lift the burden of injustice and oppression from so many Muslim communities around the world….”
