Terrified of the stepmother who murdered him, Arthur’s grandmother recalls that the six-year-old burst into tears when he found out his stepmother was in the car to pick him up and asked: ‘Grandma, can I stay with you?’[3] The torturers on the other hand were indifferent to their abuse, relishing food and ice cream whilst the boy suffered in agony.”
