The humanitarian crisis in Darfur is getting worse. Around 200,000 people have been killed, mostly civilians, and 2 ½ million people have been made homeless. The international community has been very slow to respond to this problem, and the attitude of Muslims on the whole has been rather shameful…
Knowledge translated to actions
What this means is that He is the sole creator of the universe and that He nourishes and sustains it. The implication is that He is the originator of everything (seen and unseen, known and unknown) and that everything depends on Him for sustenance, growth, and development.
There is no-one who can help you overcome the trials of this world, except Allah, because everything is under His Will and Control. This is the realisation of enlightened souls, meaning the Muttaqin.
So during the cartoon crisis, ordinary people and intellectuals throughout the world became preoccupied with the campaign for and against the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The event also had an impact on the attitudes of governments.
In Islam, Du’a is considered to be the best act of Ibadah. It is a direct link between man and his Lord (Allah). This can be confirmed by another hadith: That : “The most excellent type of ibadah or worship is Dua.”
Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass (ratqan), then We clove them asunder (fataqna)? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
Our wealth and our material possessions are a test from Allah, and a by-product of worshipping Him. It’s really not the main agenda. Sometimes, we forget our main agenda, to worship Allah, and we worship the by-products…
