By Ibrahim Al Tamimi
“Allah reminds us that the purpose of Ramadan is not merely to get hungry and thirsty. The purpose is to attain piety, Taqwa, and to get closer to Allah..”

Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan explains that the essence of a Muslim’s mission is to serve the needs of others, purely our of love and gratitude to Allah. He uses the example of Prophet Abraham/Ebrahim alayhis salaam, who was concerned about the well being of all people, whether or not they were Believers. Likewise, we should avoid ‘Us -and- them’ binary thinking. We should be genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of others, whether they believe or not, whether they like Muslims or not. ..
Dr Muein Shubib sets out what preparations we must make to ensure that our fasting during Ramadan is acceptable to Allah.

Dr Husni Hammuda explains the crucial importance of doing our prayers properly, at the right time and in the right frame of mind, and the right disposition of the heart. Salaah is the first thing that Allah will question us about on the Day of Judgement. Let us do it properly, the way Allah will be pleased with!

“There are people who will never forgive you. Then there is Allah, who invites you to return to Him. And he not only forgives your sins, but he turns your sins into good deeds, if your repentance is sincere. That is Allah, the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful…”
By Abu Aaliyah
“‘Sincerity is to single-out the Real [God] as the sole object of devotion. Meaning that one desires by their obedience to draw closer to God, exalted is He, to the exclusion of all else, such as making a show [of one’s piety] for people; seeking their praise; taking pleasure in their compliments; or other such things besides drawing closer to God, exalted is He. It is right to say that sincerity is: Purifying the act from creation having any share in it.’

“To the families of the victims, your loved ones did not die in vain. Their blood has watered the seeds of hope. Through them, the world will see the beauty of Islam, and the beauty of our unity. And Allah the Almighty says “do not say of those who have been killed in the way of Allah that they are dead, they are alive rejoicing with their Lord.” (3;169), They were the best of us, taken from us on the best of days, in the best of places and performing the best of actions. And they are not just martyrs of Islam, but they are martyrs for this nation.”
