Tafseer of Sura Al-Asr

By Dr Husni Hammuda

Sura Al Asr is one of the shortest chapters in the Holy Quran, yet it encapsulates everything that a true Believer should strive to be. In just three short verses, it emphatically proclaims that all humanity is in a state of loss, except for those who have Faith, who continuously do good deeds, and who support one another in observing Truth and patient perseverance ..

Beware of the company you keep…

By Ibrahim Al Tamimi
“People are judged by the company they keep. If you always seek the company of bad people, soon you’ll become like them. Be selective. Seek the friendship of good people, people who will remind you of Allah, the Prophets and their noble Companions, and soon you’ll become a better person.,,,”

You are exactly where Allah wants you to be

By all means plan. Dream. Hope. Wish for the Best. But put your trust in the One that knows you better than you know yourself.

Welcome to all the students

By Arshad Gamiet
“…if you take all the scientific theories and lay them side by side with the Quranic view of Creation. You will not find a simpler, more logical and rational explanation…”

Always be sincere to Allah

By Zaheer Yaqoob
“Our human weakness: pride, vanity, egotism, prevents us from cultivating a strong personal bond with Allah. We have to constantly examine our own hearts, our intentions, with absolute sincerity. Are our good deeds driven purely out of love and gratitude to Allah, or are we trying to make a good impression on people? Do we enjoy the praise and the high esteem in which we are held? Are we easily offended by criticism?

“Alhamdulillah” means that all praise and thanks is due to Allah, not only some of it. We are simply the tools through which Allah fashions his good work…”

Find a way to forgive yourself

By Lily Mohsen
“Your answer is everything Allah needs to know about your state of worship. It’s a feeling of remorse, so real and so palpable; your tears will literally have the power to cleanse your soul. With your ‘Tawba’ comes a newfound humility, that yes, you are human. You are weak. But if you’re not going to run back to Allah every time you fall, who will you run to?….
… The opportunities are endless. Allah does not hold grudges. He wrote it upon Himself to be Loving, Merciful, Supporting and Forgiving.  All it takes is one moment of sincerity to delete a lifetime of sins. I know it sounds impossible, but it’s true. Allah doesn’t want you to wither away because of your mistakes. He wants you to learn your lessons and keep striving towards Him.

He wants you to believe, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that He will never reveal your sins or expose you after guiding you back to His path.”
