Royal Holloway appoints Islamic Faith Advisor

Royal Holloway University of London has officially appointed Nabil Hawa as their first Islamic Faith Advisor. The role is generously backed by IWAWS (Islamic Welfare Association of West Surrey). It involves looking after the welfare of students and staff as well as other parties associated with the College.
Nabil is an alumnus of the University, having read Politics and International Relations (2011). He is also a former President of the Islamic Society . Commenting on his appointment, he said:
“I am grateful that a role like this is deemed necessary by both the community and the university. Pastoral care and faith provision is becoming more and more important as the demographics of this country changes. Higher education in a very international university can have its challenges but RHUL has a good track record. They really look after all students, be they members of a majority or minority, and I am glad to be part of this process.”
The role of Islamic Faith Advisor is not solely for the benefit of Muslim students but for everyone at the university.
