Rabbil A\u2019lamin.\u00a0 All praise is due to Allah who has blessed us to come here today for the Dhikr of Allah, the remembrance of Allah.\u00a0 And we should thank Allah and ask Allah to bless us to benefit from the Khutbah today.\u00a0 Brothers and sisters in Islam, the topic for today\u2019s Khutbah will Inshallah be about the importance of coming to the masjid for Salaatul Jamaa\u2019ah (the salaat in congregation).<\/p>\n<p>** Qaalallahu Ta A\u2019la, fi Suratul Baqarah, 2:43;<\/p>\n<p>\u0648\u064e\u0623\u064e\u0642\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064f\u0648\u0627\u0652 \u0627\u0644\u0635\u0651\u064e\u0644\u0648\u0629\u064e \u0648\u064e\u0622\u062a\u064f\u0648\u0627\u0652 \u0627\u0644\u0632\u0651\u064e\u0643\u064e\u0648\u0629\u064e \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0631\u0652\u0643\u064e\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0627\u0652 \u0645\u064e\u0639\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0643\u0650\u0639\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e<\/p>\n<p>And perform As-Salat, and give Zakah, and <strong>bow down<\/strong> along with Ar-Raaki`in (those who bow down)<\/p>\n<p>So Allah, Who blessed us to be Muslim, has ordered us to perform the salaat, and to <strong>bow down<\/strong> with those who <strong>bow down<\/strong>.\u00a0 Allah didn\u2019t just say for us to perform the salaat, He ordered us to bow down <strong>with those,<\/strong> who also bow down.\u00a0 And many of the Ulema have used this ayat as a proof for the obligation of performing the salaat in congregation.<\/p>\n<p>**\u00a0 Imam Muslim has related in his mosques, and the parts most hateful to Allah are markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Reference<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>\u00a0:\u00a0Sahih Muslim 671<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>In-book reference<\/td>\n<td>\u00a0:\u00a0Book 5, Hadith 364<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>And most of us know that Rasulullah (pbuh) and his sahaba (rau) made their five fard (mandatory) salaat in the masjid, so why is it that for many muslims, the only time they go to the masjid is on Fridays?<\/p>\n<p>Brothers and sisters, we need to realize that coming to worship Allah in the masjid, is for <strong>our<\/strong> benefit, <strong>we <\/strong>are the ones that <strong>gain, profit<\/strong>, by coming to the masjid, and yet because Allah is Ar-Rahman (the Most Generous, the Most Bountiful), He gives us great rewards for coming to the masjid to worship Him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>** Imams Bukhari and Muslim<\/strong> have both related, An Ibn Umar (raa), An-na Rasuulallah (pbuh) Qaala:<\/p>\n<p>\u0635\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0629\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0652\u062c\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627\u0639\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u062a\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0636\u064f\u0644\u064f \u0635\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0629\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0641\u064e\u0630\u0651\u0650 \u0628\u0650\u0633\u064e\u0628\u0652\u0639\u064d \u0648\u064e\u0639\u0650\u0634\u0652\u0631\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u062f\u064e\u0631\u064e\u062c\u064e\u0629\u064b<\/p>\n<p>Ibn Umar (raa) reported:\u00a0 The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, \u201cSalaat in congregation is twenty-seven times more meritorious, (better, greater in reward) than a Salaat performed individually.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That means that we get <strong>27x<\/strong> the reward, the hasanat, for coming to pray the fard salaat in the masjid.\u00a0 And who from amongst us doesn\u2019t need <strong>more<\/strong> hasanat, <strong>more good deeds<\/strong>, to his credit?\u00a0 Who from amongst us, who commit sins day and night, feel like we already earn <strong>enough<\/strong> good deeds, that we don\u2019t need these extra hasanat that Allah is offering to us?\u00a0 Who feels like the salaat that we make at home, by ourselves, is good enough, and that we don\u2019t need the extra reward to overcome the bad things that we do day in, and day out?<\/p>\n<p>And if we\u2019re not coming to the masjid to worship Allah, to get the 27x more reward, is it because we doing something <strong>better<\/strong> instead?\u00a0 Is what we\u2019re trading our 27x more reward for, going to give us <strong>more<\/strong> reward from Allah? Or <strong>less<\/strong>?\u00a0 We should ask ourselves, if I\u2019m not coming to the masjid to get the 27x reward from Allah, then what am I trading this reward for?\u00a0 Is it for a couple of dollars? Is it for some extra sleep?\u00a0 Is it for the game on t.v., or my favorite show?\u00a0 What kind of bargain are we selling our reward for?\u00a0 And it\u2019s a huge reward that Allah offers us.<\/p>\n<p>** <a href=\"http:\/\/sunnah.com\/tirmidhi\">Jami` at-Tirmidhi<\/a> \u00bb <a href=\"http:\/\/sunnah.com\/tirmidhi\/2\">The Book on Salat<\/a>\u00a0 \u201c Buraidah Al-Aslami narrated that :\u00a0 the Prophet said: &#8220;Give glad tiding to those who walk to the <strong><em>Masajid<\/em><\/strong> in the dark; of a complete light on the Day of Resurrection.&#8221; and sisters, Allah has promised to give <strong>light<\/strong> to the believers who go the masjid to worship Him in the darkness.\u00a0 And we\u2019re all going to need this light on Yawmul Qiyaama, so why not work for it now, while we can?\u00a0 This is from the reward that Allah reserves for those to leave the <strong>comfort<\/strong> of their homes to come to worship Him in the Masjid.\u00a0 And in another Hadith;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>** Imams Bukhari and Muslim<\/strong> have both recorded, An Abi Hurairata (ra) An-nan-Nabiyya (pbuh) \u063a\u064e\u062f\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u0631\u064e\u0627\u062d\u064e<\/p>\n<p>Abu Hurairah (ra) reported: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, \u201cHe who goes to the masjid in the morning or in the evening, Allah prepares for him a place in Jannah whenever he goes to the masjid in the morning and returns from it in the evening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allah is promising to prepare a place for us in Jannah, every time we come to the masjid in the morning or in the evening.\u00a0 Is there <strong>anyone<\/strong> else who is offering to prepare a place for us in Jannah?\u00a0 Is there <strong>anyone<\/strong> else offering us something <strong>better<\/strong>?\u00a0 Is someone offering us something better if we <strong>don\u2019t<\/strong> come to the masjid, if we stay away from the masjid?\u00a0 Then why don\u2019t we come?\u00a0 Why do we stay away from the masjid?<\/p>\n<p>Brothers, who from amongst us doesn\u2019t want a place in Jannah, in Paradise?\u00a0 And all we have to do is come to the masjid to worship Allah.\u00a0 By coming to the masjid to worship Allah, Allah is helping us to help <strong>ourselves<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>We talk about making hajj one day, but we can make a minor hajj 5 times a day, everyday of the year!<\/p>\n<p>Brothers and sisters, we need to realize that by making the decision to come to the masjid to worship Allah, we are opening up the doors to all <strong>kinds<\/strong> of blessings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>** Imam Muslim<\/strong> has recorded an Abi Hurairata (ra) Qaal; An-nan Nabii (pbuh) Qaal;<\/p>\n<p>\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 reported; The Prophet (pbuh) said, \u201cHe who purifies (performs wudu) himself in his house, and then walks to one of the houses of Allah (mosque) for performing an obligatory Salaat, one step of his will wipe out his sins, and another step will elevate his rank (in Jannah).<\/p>\n<p>So with every step, we get sins removed and we get elevated.\u00a0 When we come to the masjid, we make dua at the door, we give salaams, we pray Sunnah, we may see brothers offering Sunnah before and after salaat, so we may follow them.\u00a0 While we\u2019re waiting for the salaat, we\u2019re getting reward, after the salaat, we getting reward.\u00a0 We may stay for a halaqah, we get reward.<\/p>\n<p>Compare this to making our salaat at home!\u00a0 Where\u2019s the comparable reward?<\/p>\n<p>Brothers, many of us may not come to the masjid, to pray the fard salaat, because we live far from the masjid.\u00a0 For many of us, with this masjid being here, it\u2019s even easier for us to come to the salaat, than it was before.\u00a0 But Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has told us about the special reward for those who come from a far distance, to worship Allah in the masjid.<\/p>\n<p>**\u00a0 Abu Dawuud has recorded in his sunun;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;\u200f \u0627\u0644\u0623\u064e\u0628\u0652\u0639\u064e\u062f\u064f \u0641\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0623\u064e\u0628\u0652\u0639\u064e\u062f\u064f \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0633\u0652\u062c\u0650\u062f\u0650 \u0623\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0638\u064e\u0645\u064f \u0623\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0631\u064b\u0627 \u200f&#8221;\u200f \u200f.\u200f<\/p>\n<p>Narrated Abu Hurayrah (ra):<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Prophet () said: The further one is from the mosque , the greater will be one&#8217;s reward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Subhanallah, this is from the generosity of Allah, that He gives us great rewards when we struggle for His sake, when we respond to His call.\u00a0 And is there a better reason to leave our homes than to respond to the call of Allah; Hayyah alas Salaah, Hayyah alal Falaah.<\/p>\n<p>And then the Prophet (pbuh) continued and said:<\/p>\n<p>\u0641\u064e\u0623\u064e\u0628\u0652\u0639\u064e\u062f\u064f\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a \u064a\u064e\u0646\u0652\u062a\u064e\u0638\u0650\u0631\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0635\u0651\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0629\u064e \u062d\u064e\u062a\u0651\u064e\u0649 \u064a\u064f\u0635\u064e\u0644\u0651\u0650\u064a\u064e\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0645\u064e\u0639\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0625\u0650\u0645\u064e\u0627\u0645\u0650 with the Imam (in congregation) will have a <strong>greater <\/strong>reward, than the one who observes it alone and then goes to sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brothers, many of us may decide that we\u2019re going to pray our Fard salaat at home, because they pray it too late, or they pray it too early, at the masjid, but look at what we\u2019re giving up!\u00a0 We\u2019re giving up the ajr, the reward of Allah, and for what?\u00a0 What are we talking about, a little extra sleep, a little extra time in front of the t.v., a little more time at the dinner table.\u00a0 We should ask ourselves, is this a <strong>good bargain<\/strong> that we\u2019re settling for?<\/p>\n<p>And if we don\u2019t sacrifice now, <strong>when<\/strong> will we sacrifice?\u00a0 If we come to the masjid for Fajr and Ishaa, we have the opportunity to begin and end our day with sacrifice for the worship of Allah!\u00a0 Does anyone of us doubt that Allah will reward us for this?<\/p>\n<p>Allah rotates the seasons and the times so that we can benefit from that.\u00a0 If we can\u2019t make it to the masjid when salaat is at a certain time, what about when the time changes?\u00a0 How many of us can make dhur at the masjid right now?\u00a0 How about Maghrib?<\/p>\n<p>Brothers and sisters, we all say we want Jannah, but where\u2019s the sacrifice?\u00a0 Where is the effort on our part?\u00a0 Coming to the masjid for the salaat is one way that we can show Allah that we\u2019re serious about wanting to earn His Mercy and Forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>And the rewards from Allah, for those who come to the masjid to pray the fard Salaat, don\u2019t end there.<\/p>\n<p>** Imam Muslim recorded, An Uthman bin Affan (ra) Qaala: Sami\u2019tu rasuulallah (pbuh) yaquulu:<\/p>\n<p>\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0643\u064e\u0642\u0650\u064a\u064e\u0627\u0645\u0650 \u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0644\u064e\u0629\u064d<\/p>\n<p>Uthman bin Affan (ra) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) saying: \u201cOne who performs Ishaa prayer in congregation, is as if he has performed Salaat for half of the night.\u00a0 And one who performs the Fajr prayer in congregation, is as if he has performed Salaat the whole night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This hadith tells us that the reward of performing Isha\u00a0 and Fajr prayers in congregation is so great that it equals the worship of the whole night.\u2019 Imam Nawawi.<\/p>\n<p>When was the last time that any of us stayed up the <strong>whole<\/strong> night, in the worship of Allah Subhana wa Ta A\u2019la?\u00a0 When was the last time we prayed salaatul tahajjud, or salaatul witr?<\/p>\n<p>And by comparison, how many of us stay up late into the night watching t.v, or on the internet, or playing video games?\u00a0 Or something else?\u00a0 And will we get any kind of reward for this?\u00a0 And we don\u2019t get a reward for this, will we get a punishment?\u00a0 Allah is offering us this great ajr, and all we have to do is come to the masjid for His Remembrance, for His sake.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aqullukawlihatha, wa astaghfirullaha li wa lakum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alhumdulillahi Rabbil Alamin, was salaatu wa salaamu ala Muhammad, wa ali alihi, wa ashabihi, ajamiin, amabaad.<\/p>\n<p>**\u00a0 Qaalallahu Ta A\u2019la, fi Suratul Baqarah, ayat 238:<\/p>\n<p>\u062d\u064e\u0640\u0641\u0650\u0638\u064f\u0648\u0627\u0652 \u0642\u064e\u0640\u0646\u0650\u062a\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e<\/p>\n<ol start=\"238\">\n<li>Guard strictly (five obligatory) As-Salawat (the prayers) especially the Middle Salah. And stand before Allah with obedience.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Brothers and sisters in Islam, Allah has ordered us in the Qur\u2019an to guard strictly the 5 salawat.\u00a0 And the way that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his Sahaba (raum) used to do this was by praying in the Masjid as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Brothers and sisters, Yawmul Qiyaama is not that far away from us.\u00a0 Every day that we wake up\u00a0 brings us one day closer to our Akhirah, our hereafter.\u00a0 So, we should ask ourselves, what are we preparing for ourselves, what kinds of deeds are we sending forward, for the day when we will stand in front of Allah Subhana wa Ta A\u2019la.<\/p>\n<p><strong>** Imams Bukhari and Muslim<\/strong> have both related, An Abi Hurairata (ra) Qaala: Qaala Rasuulullah (pbuh),<\/p>\n<p>\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0633\u064e \u0635\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0629\u064c \u0623\u064e\u062b\u0652\u0642\u064e\u0644\u064e \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064f\u0646\u064e\u0627\u0641\u0650\u0642\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0641\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0631\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0652\u0639\u0650\u0634\u064e\u0627\u0621\u0650\u060c \u0648\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0644\u064e\u0645\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0641\u0650\u064a\u0647\u0650\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0644\u0623\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0647\u064f\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u062d\u064e\u0628\u0652\u0648\u064b\u0627\u060c<\/p>\n<p>The Prophet (\ufdfa) said, &#8220;No prayer is heavier upon the hypocrites than the Fajr and the `Isha&#8217; prayers and if they knew what is in them (in reward), they would have attended them, even if (it was) crawling.<\/p>\n<p>And that is because coming to the masjid for Salaatul Fajr and Isha is <strong>hard<\/strong>.\u00a0 It involves <strong>sacrifice<\/strong>.\u00a0 It involves fighting our own nafs, <strong>and<\/strong> the shayatiin, who are telling us to stay in bed, to get some extra sleep, you need the sleep.\u00a0 It involves <strong>struggling<\/strong> against our own nafs, and the shayatiin, who are telling us to stay home and relax, enjoy our evening, enjoy ourselves after a long day at work. \u00a0You deserve it, you work hard.<\/p>\n<p>But what about working hard for Jannah?\u00a0 What about working hard to save ourselves from the Hellfire?\u00a0 What about working <strong>hard<\/strong> to send something forward for our Akhirah?<\/p>\n<p>Brothers and sisters, all of us <strong>say<\/strong> we want Jannah, but how many of us are willing to <strong>sacrifice<\/strong> and <strong>work<\/strong> to get it?\u00a0 We say we want Allah to save us from the Hellfire, but what are we doing to help ourselves?\u00a0 We want the <strong>top <\/strong>prize, but we want to do the least amount of work to get it, and some of us don\u2019t even want to do that, brothers and sisters don\u2019t even make salaat!\u00a0 When are we going to put in the work, put in the sacrifice, if not <strong>now<\/strong>?\u00a0 Are we waiting for a better time, or a better reason?<\/p>\n<p>**\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/sunnah.com\/ibnmajah\">Sunan Ibn Majah<\/a> \u00bb <a href=\"http:\/\/sunnah.com\/ibnmajah\/4\">The Book On The Mosques And The Congregations<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Aishah said:\u00a0 &#8220;The Messenger of Allah said: &#8216;If the people knew what (reward) there is in the &#8216;<strong><em>Isha<\/em><\/strong>&#8216; prayer and <strong><em>fajr<\/em><\/strong> prayer, they would come even if they had to crawl.'&#8221; (Sahih)<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;\u200f \u0644\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0644\u064e\u0645\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0633\u064f \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0641\u0650\u064a \u0635\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0639\u0650\u0634\u064e\u0627\u0621\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0635\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0641\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0631\u0650 \u0644\u0623\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0647\u064f\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u062d\u064e\u0628\u0652\u0648\u064b\u0627 \u200f&#8221;\u200f \u200f.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><\/td>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><\/td>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Brothers and sisters in Islam, we should ask ourselves, what would it <strong>take<\/strong> for us to come to the masjid crawling, if that was the <strong>only<\/strong> way that we could get here?<\/p>\n<p>Would we crawl to the masjid is we <strong>knew<\/strong> that it would save us from the Hellfire on Yawmul Qiyaama?\u00a0 Would we be willing to crawl to the masjid, <strong>if<\/strong> that was the only way that we could get there, if we <strong>knew<\/strong> that Allah would forgive us our sins.<\/p>\n<p>We, who commit sins day and night.\u00a0 We, who involve ourselves in the <strong>Haraam,<\/strong> day in and day out, even though we <strong>know<\/strong> that we are disobeying Allah.\u00a0 Would we come to the masjid crawling, if that was the <strong>only way<\/strong> that we could get there, if we <strong>knew<\/strong> that Allah would enter us into Jannah because of our coming to the Masjid for salaatul fajr and ishaa?<\/p>\n<p>Allah is promising us this <strong>great<\/strong> reward if we come for fajr and ishaa, and on the other hand Shaytan and our own nafs is offering us <strong>nothing<\/strong>, to stay away, and we do.\u00a0 Which is the better bargain?<\/p>\n<p>And how many of us can come to the masjid today, without <strong>having<\/strong> to crawl?\u00a0 How many of us can come in a car, or ride a bike, or walk to the masjid?\u00a0 What\u2019s keeping us from coming to the masjid <strong>today, when we don\u2019t have to crawl<\/strong>?\u00a0 Brothers, are we going to keep putting off coming to the masjid, until the day comes when we can\u2019t come to the masjid?<\/p>\n<p>Today we can come to the masjid, but what about tomorrow?\u00a0 What if tomorrow Allah takes away our ability to come to the masjid, how many of us would have regrets then?\u00a0 People have strokes, people have accidents, people experience problems and disasters in their lives that prevent them from being able to come to the worship of Allah.\u00a0 People die everyday.\u00a0 How many of us want to look back at our lives and see all the days that we could have come to the worship of Allah, but instead we chose to do something else?<\/p>\n<p>We should ask ourselves, how many of our brothers and sisters, who are in their graves right now, would give the world and everything in it, if they could just come back to this world, just long enough to pray two rakat for the sake of Allah in the Masjid?\u00a0 Now that they\u2019ve <strong>seen<\/strong> with their <strong>own eyes<\/strong> the end results of their actions in this world.\u00a0 Now that they\u2019ve seen what their hands have sent forward for their akhirah.\u00a0 Now that they <strong>know<\/strong> the reality of this life, and how it deceived them.\u00a0 Are we waiting until that becomes us?\u00a0\u00a0 Today we have the chance to come to the masjid to worship Allah, how <strong>many of us<\/strong> have been promised tomorrow?<\/p>\n<p>I ask Allah to help us to benefit from what we\u2019ve heard here today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allahuma\u2019 Eghfir Lil\u2019 Muslimeena wal Muslimat, Wal Moumineena wal Mouminaat, Al-Ahya\u2019ee minhum wal amwat, Innaka samee\u2019un mujibul dawat <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inna Llaha wal malaikatahu yassalluna ala nabi, Ya ayuhaladhina amanu, sallu alaihi wa sallimu taslima.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Allahumma salli ala Muhammad, wa ala alli Muhammad, kama sallaita ala Ibrahima, wa ala ali Ibrahima<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Allhuma barak ala\u00a0 Muhammad, wa ala ali Muhammad, kama barakta ala Ibrahima, wa ala ali Ibrahima, fil alamina innaka hamidun majid<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Khalil Moya<br \/>\n&#8221;
